BYTEFIT FIELD NOTES
Compress an image to 100KB
Fit a JPG, PNG or WebP below 100,000 bytes.
A file picker asking for 100KB may reject a perfectly good photo simply because it contains too many bytes. Bytefit lets you set that ceiling and checks the resulting file against it.
- Open the tool with the 100KB preset.
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP from your device.
- Choose JPG unless the receiving form explicitly supports WebP.
- Click Fit my image. Inspect the exact byte count, dimensions and preview.
- Download and check the receiving form’s remaining requirements.
100KB is not always the same limit
This tool treats 1KB as 1,000 bytes, so its 100KB output limit is 100,000 bytes. Some forms use 102,400 bytes. A stricter output normally fits both, but the form may have a minimum file size too. Read the current instructions.
Quality and dimensions
We try lower encoding quality before reducing dimensions. A tiny size can make details unreadable. If the preview is too soft or smaller than a required dimension, choose a larger permitted ceiling or return to the original image.
