About Bytefit
A small, original image utility.
Bytefit is an independent browser-local image tool operated by Hi_ai. It helps fit an image under a byte limit without sending the image to a server. It was developed with AI assistance.
We use the browser canvas encoder and inspect actual output size. Encoding, color handling and metadata behavior depend on the browser. Re-encoding typically removes original metadata; this is not a forensic metadata removal guarantee.
Our business-model research included Photopea’s public description of its advertising model. Bytefit is an original focused implementation, with no affiliation or copied Photopea code or assets. We currently run no advertising.
